The Eswatini Chess Federation (ECF) is proud to officially announce the appointment of the Minister of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT), Honourable Senator Savannah Maziya, as the Patron of the Eswatini Chess Federation.

This appointment marks a historic milestone for chess in the Kingdom of Eswatini — aligning national leadership with the intellectual and strategic growth of the sport.
In her appointment, Hon. Maziya expressed deep gratitude and pride, emphasising that “Chess is more than just a game — it is a powerful tool for developing critical thinking, discipline, and strategy.” She highlighted that the values of foresight, patience, and problem-solving are essential skills for young people to thrive in today’s digital economy.
As Patron, Hon. Maziya has pledged to support the Federation in advancing chess development across the country, promoting participation in schools and communities, and raising the profile of Eswatini chess regionally and internationally.
The ECF extends its heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Maziya for accepting this patronage and looks forward to working closely with her to grow the sport and inspire the next generation of chess champions.
