The Unifoods Chess League — sponsored to the tune of E150 000 in September 2024, with the money spread over three years — saw rounds three and four hosted by the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) Chess Club at their headquarters in Ezulwini.
The log leaders Trojan Horse Chess Club had what looked like a tough assignment, but it turned out to be one-sided: Trojan swept the classical section 6-0 despite missing stars like CM Mbongeni Mabuza and 17-year-old Nkosivile Mabuza. Powerhouse Chess Club were locked with Trojan Horse in one of the league’s marquee match-ups.
